ANYONE CAN MAKE PUPPETS!

Have you ever been interested in puppetry? The art of building puppets for theatrical performances is at least 4000 years old. Stage Coach Players is offering a Puppet Making and Performance workshop on Saturday, February 13 at the theatre located at 126 South 5th Street. The workshop will begin at 9:00 AM and run through noon.

Sean Henson of Sycamore will be heading the workshop. Henson has directed a number of shows for Stage Coach, including the 2007 A Christmas Carol, which utilized working puppets. In addition, Henson, a member of the Puppeteers of America, has written, built and performed with puppets for churches, schools and video performance for over a decade.

Included in the workshop is a short demonstration of the various types of puppets and then give the participants a chance to build some simple hand puppets and one that's slightly more complex. They will also do some basic performance exercises and present a short performance recital to parents at the end of the workshop.

If you are interested in the Puppet Making and Performance workshop or would like to register, please email Sean.

There is a small fee of $15 that will go to help defray the cost of puppet making materials.
